After: the finished EIFS elevation with the crew at the base of the wall

Scope

Complete exterior facade installation on a new multi-story commercial building: fluid-applied waterproofing and air barrier over the sheathing, continuous graphite-polystyrene (GPS) exterior insulation, reinforced basecoat and premium finish coat — the full Sto EIFS system installed to the manufacturer's specifications with a system warranty. All work at height from suspended (swing-stage) and pipe scaffolding that the crew designed, set and managed itself.

Challenge
A tall, tight urban site on a working street, with a facade that had to be finished through the winter — every elevation had to be reached from suspended stages and pipe scaffold.
Solution
The crew rigged and managed its own access — suspended stages on the high walls, pipe scaffold with debris netting at the street — and sequenced the barrier, insulation, basecoat and finish by elevation to stay inside the products' temperature windows.
Result
Facade complete, spring 2022. A warranted Sto EIFS envelope with GPS insulation that raised the building's R-value well above a conventional wall.
