About

A company that does the trades itself — and does the paperwork right.

The Dom Construction Group LLC is a general contracting and exterior restoration company headquartered on New Karner Road in Albany. Our work is the outside of buildings: masonry, EIFS and stucco, industrial coatings and painting, concrete, and the flashing and waterproofing that ties it together.

The company is led by its managing member, Yuanxi Rzaca, who has about nine years in construction across the trades we perform — masonry, EIFS and stucco, coatings, concrete and restoration — beginning in New York City with NYC Best Squad Construction, and who still works on our painting crew. Field operations and estimating are managed by Dominik (Dom) Rzaca, who holds a master's degree in civil engineering and has spent more than nineteen years on building envelopes — first on multi-story EIFS, stucco and waterproofing projects in New York City, then in the Capital Region, where the family moved the business.

In 2026 the company's focus shifted to public work: a bonded, prevailing-wage exterior painting contract at the University at Albany's Casey Stadium; a campus-wide signage contract at SUNY Oswego; a masonry rebuild for the Troy Community Land Bank; concrete stairs, ramps and ADA railings for a community action agency. Alongside that, we kept the commercial relationships that got us here — a regional hospital, a downtown developer, and general contractors who need an envelope subcontractor that answers the phone.

We are deliberately small. Our managers are on site, the crew is ours, and the person who wrote the proposal is the person who walks the punch list.

How we work

Our own crews do the work

Masonry, EIFS and stucco, coatings, concrete, floors, roofing, framing and signage are self-performed by our crews with our own scaffold; lifts are rented or owner-furnished as the job requires. One responsible party, and a schedule we control.

An engineer runs the job

Our manager, Dom Rzaca, holds a master's degree in civil engineering and has spent nineteen-plus years on exterior envelopes, from high-rise EIFS in New York City to public work in the Capital Region.

Documentation is part of the work

Product data, SDS packets, mock-ups, certified payroll, daily photos and closeout records — prepared the way a state agency, a hospital or a GC's compliance portal expects them.

Occupied facilities are the norm

Stadiums in season, hospital campuses, apartment buildings, childcare centers and downtown sidewalks: pedestrian protection, phasing and off-hours shifts are planned before mobilization.

Field crews

Masons, EIFS mechanics, painters, carpenters, concrete finishers and laborers

OSHA-trained crews that self-perform our trades, with apprentices enrolled through the ABC Empire State Chapter's NYS DOL-registered apprenticeship program. Specialty partners are brought in only when a job's scale calls for it, always under our supervision.

Safety & compliance

Safety on our sites is a set of habits, not a slogan: site-specific safety plans and SDS packets before mobilization, OSHA 10-hour training for the crew, scaffold and lift inspections, fall protection, silica controls, and EPA lead-safe work practices on older buildings. Public work adds prevailing wage, certified payroll and a registered apprenticeship program — we have all three, and we treat them as part of the job, not an afterthought.

Memberships & accreditation

  • New York State Department of Labor–registered apprenticeship program — signatory employer through the Associated Builders and Contractors, Empire State Chapter (also a member)
  • Better Business Bureau — Accredited Business (A−)
  • EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm #NAT-F330223-1
  • Sherwin-Williams Applicator Training Program — enrolled
  • New York State Statewide Financial System — registered vendor

Where we work

Based in Albany, we work across the Capital Region — Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga and Clifton Park — plus Schoharie County, the Catskills and the Hudson Valley. For SUNY and state agency work we travel statewide; in 2026 that has meant Oswego, with bids at Potsdam and Buffalo.
